Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. It's Purely Animal - Issue No. 19 - Toby, The Tree Climber

Here's Toby.

Watch Toby run.

Watch Toby play.

Watch Toby climb a tree...

Every time I think I've seen it all, people or animals always get the better of me.

Yeah... my thoughts exactly.

I'm so glad our chihuahua's can't climb trees.; If they did, we'd be in a shitload of trouble.

The Voice - The Semi-Finals

Ryan and I watched The Voice last night, and I'd have to say it was quite entertaining.  I really enjoyed the show, especially the performances by Adam Levine & Christina Aguilera.

To begin the show, Carson Daly revealed who were the winners from last week's battle between Adam and Cee Lo's teams.  He started with Cee Lo's team, respectively.  The one with the most votes was Vicci Martinez, which is exactly how I called it last week.  Nakia, the Thompson sisters, and Curtis Grimes were left for Cee Lo to decide on, and with no surprise at all, it was Nakia.

Next up was Adam's team, with Javier Colon garnering the most votes - this one I didn't get right.  I don't think his voice is unique - not unique enough to impress me, but oh well.  In what came as a big surprise, Adam chose Casey Weston over Jeff Jenkins.

So with the Top 8 chosen, the competition got under way with the first contestant being, Frenchie Davis.
Frenchie sang "Like A Prayer" by Madonna, and while I think she did well, she wasn't great.  It wasn't powerful enough for me, and she was breaking up at times.

Continuing with Christina's Team, Beverly McClellan sang "The Thrill Is Gone," by Roy Hawkins, and this was absolutely fabulous.  She had a strong performance tonight, and I find her safe.

While both of Cee Lo's proteges were amazing, Vicci Martinez hit a homerun with her performance last night. She's got this in the bag, if not the whole competition.  Nakia sang "Whataya Want From Me" by Adam Lambert, where Adam Levine claimed to not know who originally sang the song.

Vicci sang, "Dog Days Are Over" by Florence and the Machine, and this performance was by far, the best of the night.  Her hair, the drums, and her voice were all this night needed to make it really entertaining.

As the night progressed, Blake Shelton's team took to the stage, starting with Dia Frampton with her rendition of "Losing My Religion" by R.E.M., which in my opinion, was exceptionally well.  She will be safe tomorrow night, not sure by how much, but she's a sure bet.

Xenia, Blake's favorite girl.  You can tell he really cares about his 16 yr old protege.  My heart of heart tells me he may try to save her by giving her more votes than Dia, but I'm going to be believe he doesn't.  I know he truly cares about these two girls.  Xenia sang "The Man Who Can't Be Moved" by The Script.  Unfortunately for Xenia, she still sounds shaky and afraid while performing on stage.  I think as she matures she will be a force to be reckoned with. Her voice is so unique.

Some people say Adam had the strongest team of the night, but I beg to differ.  It was quite obvious that Team Cee Lo kicked everyone's ass.  You can't compete with two powerful voices like Nakia and Vicci.  The only one on Adam's team that I think is worthy enough to be on the show, would be Casey.  She is young, and definitely a lot easier to mold into a great artist.  You can't do that with Javier, he's too old, and has a wife and two babies at home.  Which is where he should be, not over here on stage with young kids singing.  He won't amount to anything, because his voice is too much of the same - I've heard it before.  I know I sound bitter, but that's just my opinion.  Casey Weston sang, "I Will Always Love You" by Dolly Parton.  Not the best song of the night, and certainly not the best vocalist, but a good version of the song nonetheless.

Javier Colon sang, "Fix You" by Coldplay.  As I mentioned earlier, nothing new, nothing different, nothing unique - I've heard it all. Lionel Richie, Ruben Studdard, Luther Vandross, Ben E. King, should I keep on going?

My picks for the night are Beverly McClellan, Vicci Martinez, Dia Frampton, and Casey Weston

Amputated Mermaids, Puerto Rican Badasses and the Wrath of Kahn: What was almost The Edge of Glory

"This video raped the song in the ass and left it to die on the street corner, right next to the hooker and her saxophone player." Ouch. That was just one of the hundreds of glittering comments left by a somewhat disappointed little monster after watching Lady Gaga's newest music video, The Edge of Glory. Granted, the video wasn't what I expected but was this hating really necessary? Sure I eagerly anticipated the theatrical release of another one of Gaga's music videos after its' announcement only days ago. Thoughts raced through my head about what ballsy, outlandish thing she could possibly think of and do this time that could somehow outdo her previous work on Judas. By the time the video was finally displayed, for all the world to see, on the most recent episode of So You Think You Can Dance, my heart was beating in excitement as adrenaline ferociously pumped through my little monster veins....for the first minute. The chorus soon followed along with not much of anything else. Same scene, same outfit, same cast, same Gaga and then it was over. The video left you with a feeling not of a simmering sensation from such a visual orgasm, as most of her videos did, but instead more like that of an empty, lifeless, deflated rubber balloon that just finished squeaking out its' last bit of air. What the F*CK was that? Why would Gaga do something so...boring? Most of all: Why would you air a music video on a TV show that's only willing to play half of it? (Screw you So You Think You Can Dance! ) Many questions needed answering. After some thorough online research, things slowly began to surface.

gaga fox videoAfter the initial showing of the video the Gaga fan forums were ablaze with not the most prettiest responses and comments, but one rumor that began circulating was that Gaga and the video's director had "creative differences" and then parted ways. Originally it was believed that the fight was with Laurieann Gibson, Gaga's creative director, Judas' video co-producer and close friend, but after cheerfully accepting the award for international video of the year alongside Gaga at Canada's Much Music Awards it seemed that Laurieann was still allowed inside the Haus of Gaga. In reality, Joseph Khan, who had previously worked with Lady Gaga on LoveGame and Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say), was hired to direct the music video for the Edge of Glory. Apparently though, it just wasn't meant to be. The New York Post's Pop Wrap blog reported that Kahn, despite agreeing to create the video, left production after arguing with Gaga while filming. Chancler Haynes, Kahn's on-set editor, according to Pop Wrap, said that Gaga's and Kahn's idea for the film was a constant struggle of opinions.
"Gaga changed her mind and told Joseph what to do. His hands were tied. The director just didn't have control over Gaga after she started making changes [and] Joseph's concept died," stated Haynes.
The concept in question varies depending on who you ask. Supposedly E! News obtained a casting call notice for the video which asks for a "Puerto Rican or Dominican type badass" who "must be willing to kiss Lady Gaga", "Couture Doctors" who will wear smocks and black gloves", a "male or female on-air reporter", and "a group of military men to hold M16 rifles" according to MTV news. Pop Wrap also states that several sets had been created for the video.
pic1pic3pic2
Images of these scenes were leaked on the web and then confirmed by Haynes which included "...a hospital scene, the Brooklyn Bridge, and a big underwater mermaid scene.

If you wonder how this might have turned out like, as I did, just leave it to Gaga drop clues while still keeping us guessing. On June 15th Gaga performed at Le Grand Journal, a French talk show, and gave us a possible sneak peak of what the mystery video might have looked like.  Continue reading, and view video here.

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words - Issue No. 5

Made of Words
Simply stunning, simply breathtaking is all I can say about my fifth issue of "A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words," and you can't capture it's true imagination until you click the picture and enlarge it.  As one commenter put it, "Made of Words by *rawimage is just that. An entire picture made of words. I'm sure you'll agree that the level of detail is simply amazing. It's incredible what you can do with Lorem Ipsum and a lot of time on your hands." - Patgroove

Movies to Watch: Footloose (First Official Full-length Trailer)

FOOTLOOSE MOVIE POSTER
The trailer is finally here, and if you have not seen the original movie, the re-boot pretty much remains true to the original, even going so far as to including Ren's yellow Volkswagen and famous red tuxedo.  "We pay homage to the original but it's definitely a new, updated version of it," Kenny told MTV News. "We all were big fans of the original. We keep the heart of the story there, but it's updated."

kenny wormandUp and coming actor, Kenny Wormald plays Ren, and famous Dancing with the Stars alum, Julianne Hough, plays Ariel.

julianne-houghIn a quick synopsis, a city boy (Ren) moves to a small town where no one is allowed to dance, nor hear rock music for that matter.  He falls in love with Ariel who happens to have a very jealous boyfriend, and a Bible-thumping father.  Ren pretty much tries to lead the dispassionate teenagers into a rebellion against the town.  I won't go any further, but it is a fun movie to watch - at least the original was.  We'll see how this one turns out.

How To Change A Water Cooler

Okay, okay, I'll admit it - I've done this before.  But only because I hurt my back before.  In either case, it's quite hilarious when you know you're guilty of such a thing.

The Woes of Being a Bad Parent - Lioness Wants to Eat Human Baby for a Snack

I'm stuck on this one, I'm not sure if this constitutes as bad parenting, but it's something I know I wouldn't be doing; Regardless if there were a thick glass between my child, and a 400 pound lion.

In my third issue of "The Woes of Being a Bad Parent," a couple takes their baby son to the local zoo, where they seem to be taking joy in the fact their baby is terrified of the creature before him.  The parents continue to place their baby in front of the lioness as the lion "literally" tries to claw her way through the glass, and opens her mouth for the delicious human snack before her.

Some of the comments on the parent's You Tube page are getting rather nasty.
lol whos the dumbass that said its trying to eat the baby
it was just playing with the baby.
they wont kill him or her. they know its an innocent baby
lions are smarter than us hahh
if you look at lion face you can see that its really calm and playful
Do you realize how powerful a Lionesses paws are? It would have broken every bone in the child's body then swallowed it whole.
Not it was trying to eat the baby. Lions and Lionesses always go for small children and young animals, stop trying to make it out to be a pet. It's natural for a Lion/Lioness to behave this way, they are not cuddly or friendly animals, no matter how much you want them to be.

OMG Hilarious! - New Baby

Please heed these warnings...
I suggest you not shake your baby up and down, nor to drop it to see if it's a bouncing baby boy or girl.

Masturbation: Facts and Statistics

Truth is... everybody does it, or has done it.  It's a proven fact.  But seeing it in the context of a chart is quite fascinating.  Especially when an astonishing 41% of people have been caught doing it, and 797,151 Americans are actually doing it as you read this post.

Master Chef: Season 2 - Top 18 Chosen

Update 7:35 AM:  An episode of Master Chef aired last night, and two more were eliminated.  You can find out here, or wait for my review.

Last night Ryan and I finally had the chance to catch up on Master Chef.  We were behind one episode, but have finally caught up.  Last week the top 18 amateur cooks in America were revealed, and will be attempting to win 250,000 in cash, and a cookbook deal.
Ryan and I started watching Master Chef last summer when the first season premiered, and we really enjoyed it.  I worked for several restaurants as an assistant head cook, baker, and a line cook, over a period of 7 years before I got into the healthcare field, so I'm familiar with most of the foods, and techniques the cooks use while performing their challenges.
If you've never watched the show, the last 3 weeks you have missed Gordon Ramsay from "Hell's Kitchen," Joe Bastianich (restaurant and vineyard owner,) and chef Graham Elliot, whittle through 100 amateur cooks to get their top 18.

This season, the amount of contestants were pushed up to 38, with each contestant having to cook their signature dish, and present it to the hosts.  If 2 out of the 3 hosts liked their dish, they would receive a master chef apron, and move forward to the next round.  In the following episodes, the chosen few went from 38 to 24, and by doing this, they were given the challenge of properly coring, and slicing apples. Afterwards, the 24 remaining contestants then moved on to the chicken test, which gave them an hour to prepare any type of chicken dish they wanted.
"This is America's most popular meat.  "If you can not cook the most amazing chicken dish, there is no way on Earth you're ever going to call yourself a master chef," Ramsay said.
"The chicken should be the headline act, but make use of the supporting cast of ingredients [in the pantry]," Bastianich explained.
"We have everything you can think of, from infused oils, spices, herbs, vegetables [and more]," Bowles added.
After tasting the resulting dishes, the judges then eliminated six more finalists: Seby Joseph, an 18-year-old student from McAllen, TX; Albert Necaise, a 51-year-old truck driver from Kiln, MS; Kyle Manning, a catering account manager from Maysfield Heights, OH; Joey Stasolla, a 27-year-old business owner from Colorado Springs, CO; Rhonda Sweet, a 46-year-old produce company owner from Claremont, FL; and Aaron Thomas, a 22-year-old student from Jackson, MS.

The eliminations left 18 home cooks to compete in the competition, all listed after the jump...

Bill Maher on Nancy Grace

Last night Michele Bachmann, New Jersey Governor, Chris Christie, Sarah Palin, Congressman Weiner, and John Edwards took a beating from Bill Maher on his HBO show Real Time with Bill Maher, but according to online sources, none of it was really worth watching, except for the 30-second spot he gave Nancy Grace, and we all know who she is.

She's the loudmouth on Headline News, that used to be on CNN, covering all sorts of victim's rights cases. If you're not familiar with who she is, watch this video first, it will give you an idea of how crazy she is.  She's actually quite loud, but in this video, Elizabeth Smart puts her in her place.

Back to last night's show.. .

In the following video, Bill Maher explains to us who Nancy really is, and what she really wants. LOL.

Movies to Watch: The Muppets (First Full-length Trailer)

Woo-hoo!!!  Finally! a real Muppets Trailer has come out, and I'm super-uber excited!  As you may recall, a month ago, Disney released a fake trailer during the Pirates of the Carribean movie, titled "Green with Envy."  Well, it isn't fake this time...

From my previous post:
On vacation in Los Angeles, Walter, the world's biggest Muppet fan, and his friends Gary (Jason Segel) and Mary (Amy Adams) from Smalltown, US, discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to raze the Muppet Theater and drill for the oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets' former stomping grounds. To stage The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever and raise the $10-million needed to save the theater, Walter, Mary and Gary help Kermit the Frog reunite the Muppets, who have all gone their separate ways: Fozzie now performs with a Reno casino tribute band called the Moopets, Miss Piggy is a plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris, Animal is in a Santa Barbara clinic for anger management, and Gonzo is a high-powered plumbing magnate. With secret, signature, celebrity cameos, "The Muppets" hits the big screen November 23, 2011.

Countdown with Keith Olbermann RETURNS!

YES!! The time is almost here. The moment every liberal has been waiting for... The Return of Countdown,  starring Keith Olbermann!!

Ryan and I have been waiting for this day for quite some time, especially since we're right around the corner from the 2012 Presidential Election, where the fate of our nation will remain in the hands of our current President, Barack Obama, or a Republican candidate that I can almost guarantee, will send our nation back 50-60 years.

Countdown premieres tonight on CURRENT TV at 7:00 PM Central Time.  His first guests will include Michael Moore and Daily Kos chief Markos Moulitsas, so make sure to check it out.

Land of the Lost: The Pod Village

As you take a look at this picture right here, you're probably asking yourself, "what the hell is this?"

It's an abandoned 5-Star hotel bedroom, from a resort that never was.  In the last 33 years, many rumors have circulated around the globe, but one thing is certain - it would have been an amazing place.  Imagine waking up to the beautiful morning sunshine, looking out your hotel window, and watching the waves hitting the sandy beaches down below.   You can still see the bed frame where the comfy mattress would have been.

The UFO-shaped pods in Taipei's Sanzhi District were commissioned by the government as a hotel/apartment complex, but it was never completed due to investment problems, several fatal accidents during construction, and rumors of ghosts.  Craig Ferguson visited this place, and took some amazing photography.

Ferguson wrote the following:
Accounts vary on the origins of this complex, and indeed, as to whether it was meant to be a hotel development or a housing development. Apparently, it was constructed in the 1960s and included/was to include a dam to protect it against sea surges, floors and stairs made of marble and a small amusement park. The site was commissioned by the government and local firms and there is no named architect. Local papers at the time reported that there were numerous accidents during construction which caused the death of some workers. As news of these accidents spread, no one wanted to go there, even to visit, and the project was subsequently abandoned. The ghosts of those who died in vain are said to still linger there, unremembered and unable to pass on. The complex was left in its unfinished state because no amount of redevelopment will bring people to the area due to superstitions about ghosts, and it can’t be demolished because destroying the homes of spirits and lost souls is taboo in Asian culture.
These really cool retro looking buildings have withstood the test of time, but not for long, they are slowly but surely decaying and eventually these photos will be all that's left of what once was, someone's dream of paradise.

More amazing photos and a video after the jump...

Facebook In Real Life

We've become so ingrained in social media, that we tend to forget how we communicate in real life.  Well, this man decides to take Facebook to the people - to the people.

He walks around asking people if they wouldn't mind being his friend, even going so far as to suggesting they take a look at his photo album to help them decide.  In what is an absolutely funny take of the social behavior he has learned from Facebook and Twitter, the video below is the perfect example of who, and what we've become.

I especially love when he goes around posting "like" on different items by using post-it notes.

Where Is All The Water?

Seriously folks, where is all the water?  If you're from Texas, or any other state in the union for that matter,  you probably haven't seen any rain in 6 months.  While the following chart has nothing to do with the weather or droughts in our area, it is an informative tool on the scarcity of fresh and salt water.  It's astonishing.

You would be surprised to learn that 97.5% of the earth's water is made up of salt, and the other 2.5% is Freshwater.  Furthermore, most freshwater is unattainable, meaning... we have no way of getting it, because 70% of the 2.5% of freshwater is frozen in polar icecaps.  The news gets even more grim, another 30% of the 2.5% of freshwater available is underground, which is too expensive to tap into, and filter.  So we're left with only a mere 1% of the world's freshwater that is available for human consumption.

OMG Hilarious! - Charles Outtatown

The Anonymous Hypocrite

Yesterday morning I had the pleasure of waking up to an "anonymous comment" on my blog. I don't mind anonymous writers, I really don't. But when it's something like what he/she wrote, then that's a whole different story. It not only shows they're a coward for not revealing who they were, but they lack the courage to talk to me in a civilized manner.

The commenter actually wrote on one of my partner's editorials he posted back in April - "The Promotion of Hatred Exists".

Here's what the anonymous writer wrote:
When gays use the "when did you know you were straight" argument, it's silly..straight is the de-facto normal..if people weren't straight...there would be no people...

Also the "Some People are Gay Get over it" , well Some people don't like gays get over it..people dont have to like a behavior they find repulsive..gays like to compare their "struggle" to race, but a person skin color is not a behavior or a sexual act.
I was none too pleased and decided to leave them a comment of my own, and this what I had to say...
You say that being straight is normal, because without you there would be no people is almost laughable, if not the most foolish thing to think. As you know, billions of people around the world "believe in a GOD," and these same people know that there was no one who had sex to make Adam and Eve, God made them separately, they were "Born that way." Furthermore, when God banished Cain to another land, there were already other people there, you think they procreated too? Being straight is "not normal" You were born that way.

I hate to inform you of this, but yes, one can choose to be "straight." It doesn't mean they will be, but they can surely try. Being Heterosexual or Homosexual is something you cannot choose to be. I didn't wake up one morning when I was 2 or 3, and say... "oh I think I'll be gay today."

"IF" I had a choice, do you really think I'd want to choose the one where it would condemn me the most? Do you think I'd want to choose the one where people would make fun of me, spit on me, and call me names? No, I wouldn't choose that for myself.

Gay is not a behavior, it is who we are. The act of having sex is a behavior, and we don't have to like your sexual acts, just as much as you don't have to like ours.

You can "choose" to hate or love. I chose to love everyone, because this is how God created us. I have known I was gay since a child - I had two parents who loved me unconditionally. My father taught me how to take an engine out of a car, farm thousands of acres of land, and took me fishing. And a mother who made sure that when I left their home, I knew how to take care of myself by teaching me how to cook, wash my clothes, and fix my bed. They were a good Christian couple who took us to church every Wednesday and Sunday, and I'm sure they wish I had turned out differently, But I didn't. They didn't do anything wrong, I've always known, they've always known. You think my parents would want their child to be made fun of? Hell no. If they or I could choose we would.

I am what God made me to be.

Movies to Watch - Maybe: Super Hybrid

Just when you thought you'd seen it all, comes this gem of a killer car movie that will have you on the edge of your seat crying for more - Super Hybrid.

In the tradition that is Christine? Really?

Other than the fact, the movie boasts some really hot guys, the movie gets a big "F".  And I haven't even seen it yet.  Don't worry, it will not be coming to your local theater; Instead it will be coming to your local Wal-mart in the form of a DVD and Blu-ray.
Late one night, a mysterious car is brought into the Chicago police impound garage after a deadly traffic accident. The on-call mechanics soon discover the car has a mind of its own. With hundreds of horsepower and two tons of reinforced steel at its command, it's a seemingly unstoppable killing machine capable of outrunning — and outwitting — humans.

It's Purely Animal - Issue No. 18 - Hornero Bird Building

I have always found the animal kingdom truly fascinating, and the Hornero bird is no different. When I see something like this, it denounces the statements from idiots who say animals have no brains.  If they didn't have a brain, they wouldn't be able to do the un-thinkable.

Known for their mud nests, the Hornero bird comes from the Spanish word horno, meaning "oven".  Click the pic to see the bird complete it's home.

I'm Just A Zombie Standing in Front of a Zombie Asking it to Love Me! - Meredith Woerner

In what is so reminiscent of The Walking Dead from TNT, this live-action CGI short film is from the Media Design School's Graduate Diploma of Advanced 3D Productions in New Zealand. The short, titled "Rotting Hill," was produced in 12 weeks and features 22 digital effects shots.  I must warn you, if you have an easy stomach don't watch it.  The effects are so darn good, it's almost real.  I was watching this covering my mouth at times.

Something tells me my boyfriend, Ryan will love it.

What The GAGA Was That?

The Lady's new video made it's debut on So You Think You Can Dance last night, and I wasn't too impressed.  But at the same time, I'm also glad she did this boring ass video, so that everyone can shut the hell up.  All too often we've heard of artists sounding too much like another artist from the past, that it gets really old.  So I wouldn't doubt it if Gaga did this on purpose - creating a video that probably didn't cost her much to make.  Why go all out, making videos that cost her a horrendous amount of money, just to be compared to someone else?

Regardless of her reasons, I love the song, I love the reason why she wrote it, and I love her - for standing up for what she believes in.

My Ryan adores you Gaga, and so do I.  We will stand behind you on the Edge of Glory!

P.S.
Dear Nigel Lythgoe, WTF was that on SYTYCD last night? You premiere the video, then cut it off midway through the song. Dumbass!

"Every Conservative is Racist to A Liberal".... Jeezus, Can Someone Please Help Lucas!

I worry about people sometimes; Really, I do.  Sometimes I worry about them so much, I think they lack the intellect to hold a smart conversation.  Keep in mind, this is only certain people.  As most of my readers know, I have loved politics for as long as I can remember.  Hell, I even held a mock election when I was in college, and everyone in the dormitory had fun participating in it.  Well, almost everyone. haha, It was fun nonetheless.

On the way home from work on Tuesday, I had the pleasure of listening to Randi Rhodes.  If you've never heard of her, you should.  She is one of the smartest women I know.  She tells it like it is, and doesn't hold back. I've learned a lot from her, and you could too.  In either case, she had a caller on Tuesday who, I swear, was the dumbest person I had ever heard.  Not only was he a bigot, but he had this fascination that Bush was the greatest President this country had ever had.  Really.  No, Really.

After 7 minutes and 42 seconds of going back and forth on why we can't trust Muslims (when almost everyone I know has a Muslim friend.  It's a religion people!  Every religion has people you can't trust!  Geez!), he begins to tell Randi this...

It's better to hear the call from the beginning, where the caller believes Muslims can't be trusted, but you can skip to 7:42 minutes if you like.

I posted the conversation from the 7:42 mark after the jump if you wish to follow along.

What Are You Buying Your Dad This Father's Day?
