“If you can’t love yourself, how the hell you gonna love somebody else?” - RuPaul - - - - - - - - - - - “if by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people -- their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties -- someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal.” - John F. Kennedy - - - - - - - - - - - - “Imagine finding someone you love more than anything in the world, who you would risk your life for but couldn’t marry. And you couldn’t have that special day the way your friends do – you know, wear the ring on your finger and have it mean the same thing as everybody else. Just put yourself in that person’s shoes. It makes me feel sick to my stomach …. When I shared a picture of my tattoo on my Twitter page and said, ‘ALL LOVE is equal,’ a lot of people mocked me – they said, ‘What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!’ And I said, ‘Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. At one point I had to say, ‘Dude, everyone lay off.’ Can’t people have friendly debates about sensitive topics without it turning into unnecessary threats?” - Pop star Miley Cyrus on her marriage equality tattoo - - - - - - - - - - -

Poster of the Week - Issue No. 50 - Overconfidence

Continuing alphabetically, I bring you this week's poster, "Overconfidence".

Don't Be Nervous Andrew!

Ever feel rejected?  This kid does.  Well... he did before he was a contestant on America's Got Talent last week. The episodes were from the auditions held in Austin, Texas - the gay friendliest city in all of Texas!

Not only, did Andrew De Leon manage to get a standing ovation from the judges, he got one from the entire audience!   Believe me, our jaws just dropped when he started to sing.

The touching moment comes when he responds to Howard Stern and says, "Um, I'm just so used to being rejected and I'm not really good at anything, so... this is amazing."

Sharon Osbourne continues by saying, "..please don't say that you're not good at anything, because you got an amazing voice, and you are an individual!"

But Howie Mandell said it best when he closed out the show by saying,  "You know, you've been hiding in your room all these years, but you never let the world see who you are or what you are, and it's not that you're good at anything, you are great!"

But Mommy, I Want To Say "Gay!"

So when should you say, "Gay"?  This lovely flowchart should help guide you. LOL.

I'd Rather Buy 45 Hammers At A Dollar Store Than Spend $45 On A Nickeback Ticket...

Damn, it sure must suck to be Nickelback or it may suck to be Josh Gross - take your pick.  Lol.  Obviously the Boise, Idaho Newspaper writer isn't a fan of the the band.

Quoted - Carrie Underwood on Marriage Equality

Her fan base may be made up of people who share Christian and Conservative beliefs, but she sure as hell don't share their same values. We love you Carrie!!!

"As a married person myself, I don't know what it's like to be told I can't marry somebody I love, and want to marry. I can't imagine how that must feel. I definitely think we should all have the right to love, and love publicly, the people that we want to love...  Our church is gay friendly. Above all, God wanted us to love others. It's not about setting rules, or [saying] 'everyone has to be like me.' No. We're all different. That's what makes us special. We have to love each other and get on with each other. It's not up to me to judge anybody,
- Carrie Underwood to The Independent on marriage equality

In addition to supporting gay marriage, Underwood went on to condemn people who use the Bible for hate, saying, "That's not how I would want myself as a Christian to be represented."

Cyanide and Happiness: Complication

Crimes of the Century - No. 16 - Jeffrey Dahmer

JEFFREY DAHMER, 1991

His surname is now synonymous with "monster." Yet at least 17 times, Jeffrey Dahmer was able to get young men and boys to come home with him. In one incident, on the night of May 27, 1991 in Milwaukee, a 14-year-old managed to escape and wandered into the streets with Dahmer in pursuit. When the cops started asking questions, Dahmer was able to convince the police that it was merely a lovers' quarrel. The police conclusion: "Intoxicated Asian, naked male. Was returned to his sober boyfriend.

Like the dozen before him and four after, the young man was eventually strangled and dismembered. Dahmer kept his skull as a souvenir. He stored parts of his victims in vats. He ate them. Dahmer's crimes raised several inchoate fears and revulsions: cannibalism, sexuality, class and race -- most of his victims were poor, African-American, Asian or Latino, while Dahmer was white. After his arrest on July 22, 1991, Dahmer was sentenced to nearly a thousand years in jail. He was killed by an inmate in November 1994.

While the article above was just a short bio on a man known for all these heinous crimes, I recommend reading more about him here.  He truly was an evil human being.

TIME Magazine posted this article online several years ago, along with a list of 24 additional notorious crimes that I have been posting and will continue to post every Saturday on my blog.  Hope you enjoy.

Saturday Morning Coffee Break: It Could Happen To You

I cannot imagine ever losing the person I love.  I'm sure you can't either.  Some of you have lost wives, husbands, partners, parents, siblings, friends, and the emotional impact is unimaginable.  While I have lost loved ones, I have never lost someone I was dating or considered my best friend and lover.  It's like me losing Ryan today - I'd be devastated beyond belief.  It's not something I can prepare myself for.  Death comes at the most inconvenient time and there's no stopping that clock.

It's been a while since I've posted a "Saturday Morning Coffee Break", and now that I've come back it's as good as time as any to start.  So grab your coffee, sit back, and watch this video, because if you're gay, and in a relationship it could happen to you.  Oh and grab a tissue too, it's a tear-jerker.

If you wish to look back at some previous issues, click my logo below and enjoy.  And make sure to check out Saturday Morning Coffee Break every Saturday for another classic or current gay short film.

Is Your 'Gaydar' Working?

I always get asked from co-workers and friends to find out if a person is gay or not.  Some are even brave enough to say, "I know he's gay." And one of the ways they derive at this answer is by their persona - how the person acts in front of them.

So can you tell if someone is gay just by looking at them?  That's my question to all of you.

In the meantime check out these 12 gif images of Joe Jonas.  Gay. So gay! LOL.

Oh and by the way, The New York Times has already solved it - The Science of 'Gaydar'.

Must Watch: C.A.N.N.I.B.A.L. PSA

Over the last few weeks, Cannibalism has taken over our news, our Facebook, our blogs, our Twitters, hell, it's taken over our lives.  Due to the recent rash of brain eating humans from Canada, and the homeless eating beast in Florida; Andy Samberg from SNL appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live the other night and released a Public Service Announcement just for you.  It is titled C.A.N.N.I.B.A.L (Citizens Are Not Naturally Ingested By Americans League), and it's really serious.

Disney Prince of the Week 011

Over the last few months I have been posting a Disney Prince of the Week.  Can you guess the movie and the name of the character who played this week's Prince?

While he's not technically a Prince in the movie, the artist considers him the girl counter-part of a Disney Animated movie.  Hence in the eyes of the artist, he's a Prince of Disney.

Kiss of the Week - Issue No. 018

"If kissing was just two people touching lips, it wouldn't touch our hearts and bind our souls the way it does.

An Avengers' Bad Romance

Just when you thought you'd seen it all... The Avengers go all "Club Kid" on you. LOL.  This is a hoot and it will probably make your day. LOL.

Watch as Loki, Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and the rest of the gang dance to Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance."

The Mad Men Barbies

I'm a huge Mad Men fan, and these barbies are just my favorite!!!  Apart from the Lady Gaga barbies that came out a few years ago, these dolls are remarkably "spot-on" re-incarnations of their characters of the hit AMC show.

You have Fat Betty (who came out 50 lbs. heavier than in previous seasons), with her can of whipped cream that she devoured in an earlier episode.  You have Megan Draper in her "Zou Bisou Bisou" dress she wore for Don's birthday surprise.  Next, you have Roger Sterling holding his bastard son, and my favorite one of all, Joan Harris wearing the “emerald necklace of shame" a she pushes her baby carriage.
You can check out the rest at My Life In Plastic.com
