The Astounding 5th Grade Glee Club Known As P.S. 22 Chorus

I was looking for a musical cover to "The Call" by Regina Spektor when I came across a 5th grade glee club performing the song.  And if that wasn't strange enough, the 5th graders, who are known as P.S. 22 Chorus, will be performing at the Oscars this year.  What are the chances of me finding that out? Slim to none, I'd say.

The chorus have their own blog, http://www.ps22chorus.blogspot.com/  and have been featured on NBC Today, CNN, and Oprah.   They have also had the pleasure of meeting famous musicians such as Kyle Minogue, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, and many more.

I thoroughly enjoyed their performance and shed a tear while watching them sing.  Then again, the song itself would make anyone cry.  I have posted the song by Regina Spektor as today's Music Video of The Day and have posted the 5th grade class singing the song down below.

OMG Hilarious! - 5 Second Rule

Tearing It All Apart

Growing up I found myself tearing things apart; not for aesthetic purposes, but for the mere joy of finding out how they were made.  Of course, once I took the items apart I could never figure out how to put them back together.  I can't recall how many toys, clocks, watches, and miscellaneous things my dad would tell me not to play with, that I destroyed.

Today, the thought of taking apart my cell phone or my iPad would be unthinkable.  I can't imagine what mess I would be in.

In the images below you will be able to see several outdated gadgets, with all the pieces that were used to make them laid out on a table.  At the bottom of the last image, you can click on the 'Read More' link and look at them in a different perspective.  This is photography and technology at its best, check them out.

Government Shutdown Looming

“Closing our government would mean our men and women in uniform wouldn’t receive their paychecks and veterans would lose critical benefits. Seniors wouldn’t receive their Social Security checks and essential functions from food safety inspection to airport security could come to a halt.”  - Nancy Pelosi

Pardon my views, but the GOP has now gone on record showing just how RUTHLESS they are. They do NOT care about the American people and whats good for America. They only care about big business and keeping their wealthy friends happy. It's a sad day for us all....

These Republicans spent four days and worked until four in the morning trying to figure out ways to make America poorer and how to take away benefits for children, the poor and the middle class. Not one idea about how to lower unemployment.
Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi said the bill would put people out of work and claimed the Republicans reaction to that was "so be it."

"Democrats have a different message: 'Show us the jobs,'" she said. "Congressional Republicans have spent the last six weeks ignoring jobs and refusing to offer a plan to grow our economy."
"Today, they have made matters worse — passing a spending bill that destroys jobs, weakens the middle class, hurts schools and young adults, eliminates assistance to homeless veterans, and diminishes critical investments in our future," she said.

Now when 2012 arrives the Republicans will start off with the same old story about how President Obama and the Democratic controlled Senate have kept unemployment high and the economy is still stagnant. So take this story and print it off and put it on the refrigerator so you won't forget what the Republicans are all about. They want the country to go nowhere for the next year and a half and they are counting on the Democrats to stay home from the polls. Remember Wisconsin and Ohio where the working people have been steamrollered and how the oil companies have been allowed their Government welfare. Remember it and vote this stench out of Washington and the United States of America.

Last November, for those of you on the right who love to chant, "We won, we won, read the election results," the American voters did NOT put the deficit or national debt on the leading concerns of the day. Nor did they care a whit at the time about abortion, states' rights, health care reform or other causes the GOP/TP has wasted its time chasing over the past seven weeks.

Recent polls, released this week, re-confirm election day exit polls:
  • 83% of voters named jobs and the economy their number one worry
  • 73% were motivated by deep disaffection with the way Congress performs - and are certainly not being reassured by the incontinent behavior of the House Republican majority now
  • While 22% said they were influenced by a Tea Party issue, 56% said they ignored the Tea Pary, and another 18% were actively opposed to TP issues and actions
So now the Tea Party is driving the GOP bus down avenues that only 22% of the voters endorse. That is a highway to hell for the Republican Party.

Foods That Make You Cringe - Issue No. 4

In my 4th issue of 'Foods That Make You Cringe,' you have your choice of two delicious casseroles, one with your  favorite chicken nuggets and fish sticks and the other with mac & cheese.

Every Thursday I'll be stating the obvious fact; that people make up the craziest shit, hence the reason people tell you, "This Is Why Your Fat."  Yes, I know it's Saturday; I got behind on my regular posts.

A layer of seasoned curly fries topped with chicken nuggets, chicken fried steak, fish sticks, pizza rolls, and a slice of corndog then smothered in melted mozzarella cheese topped with a mixture of chili, bacon, and sliced hot dogs topped with a sprinkling of cheddar.

A layer of mac and cheese on the bottom, then chicken, another layer of mac, then beef, sun dried tomatoes, and bacon, with another layer of mac, and lastly a layer of mac and cheese with beef sprinkled on top and some parmesan cheese on top.

Yes, I Hold It Against Her

Let's see...

Do I hold it against her?  YES!!!

I hold it against her for the simple fact that she wasn't able to impress me as much as I really wanted her to.

Can you say product placement much?

About 37 seconds into Britney's new video, we get a shot of her new perfume "Radiance."  She sprays it on herself and around 12 seconds later introduces us to "Make Up Forever," the makers of Aqua Cream Waterproof Cream Shadow.

Later, Britney uses the dating site "PlentyOfFish.com," and if that isn't enough, a hot guy appears on a "Sony" monitor.  It's nothing new really; she's used product placement before.  Most notably in the music video for her single "Circus."

The music video was "okay" but not what I was expecting after 13 days of teasers. If you want to see her it again, you can check it out down below, or check out this version I like a lot more.

Interesting Concepts - Wolverine?

I thought this was really cool and had to share.

Wolverine or 2 Batmans?

OMG Hilarious! - Babies

"What's Morally Wrong With Homosexuality?"

The title to this post is in reference to the DVD presentation written and produced by the young Dr. John Corvino.  He holds a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Texas at Austin and is Associate Professor of Philosophy at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.

I thoroughly enjoyed the extended trailer provided on his website and have included it down below.

In it, John answers the following questions: Is homosexuality unnatural? Does it threaten society? Are gays and lesbians "born that way"--and does it matter either way?  He provides humor to his dialouge which makes the presentation quite remarkable.

John on "The Words We Use"

Heterosexual people we talk about relationships; Homosexual people we talk about sex. We say heterosexual people have 'lives';  homosexual people have 'lifestyles'.  We say heterosexual people have a moral vision;  homosexual people have an agenda.  The words we use to talk about these things really effect our way of thinking about them.

John on "Biblical Condmenation?"

I mean when we look to that Judeo, Christian Bible we find some things that actually sound pretty negative with respect to same-sex relationships.

The Book of Leviticus says "man shall not lie with man as with woman, it is an abomination unto God." Of course the Book of Leviticus calls a number of other things abominations that we don't tend to pay attention to quite as often.

The Bible suggests that those who divorce and remarry should be put to death. Why? Well, because the New Testament defines divorce as adultery, the Old Testament prescribes death for adultery.

The Bible suggests that slavery is morally acceptable. And I say, the Bible contains no error, what are you going to do with those slavery passages? And you know what the people say to me? They say, 'John, you are pulling those passages out of context; you can't just take passages out of the Bible and quote them as if they mean the same thing today as they did for the people of the time. You can't just pull the pages out of context.'

And I say, well wait a second, if it is not okay to do that with the slavery passages, why is it okay to that with the homosexuality passages?

Take the time to watch the trailer and if you wish to purchase it you can visit his DVD website at http://www.gaymoralist.com/

Dead Island

I'm not into video games like my partner Ryan, but I'd have to say that the trailer to this game is quite remarkable.  I definitely wouldn't watch it if you have a weak stomach. It was made for all those zombie-loving fans; and it doesn't disappoint.  Complete with the annihilation of a small family (while on vacation, it seems like), but in backwards slow-motion.

I'd have to say this isn't the zombie game of yesteryear; I played the very first Resident Evil when it came out on Playstation One and I was terrified with that game.  There's no way I could play this one.  I wouldn't make it past the first scene.  And besides, I'd probably start having nightmares.

Joseph McElderry - Simply Beautiful

He's gorgeous, he's 19, and he's gay!

I like it when young men like Joe come out.  I know it may have been difficult for him, but he worked the courage to announce it on his official website, thanking his family and fans for their support.

Singing an original song by Miley Cyrus, "The Climb," Joe McElderry became X-Factor's season six winner in the UK.   In 2010 he was approached by Twentieth Century Fox to record the specially written track, "There's A Place For Us", which features in the movie, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.  The song was nominated for a Golden Globe in 2011 for best original song in a motion picture.

So in honor of X-Factor making it's American debut in the Fall of this year, I have posted 4 videos of the very talented Joe McElderry.  The first one featuring his amazing rendition of Luther Vandross's "Dance With My Father", the second one featuring his X-Factor finale performance where he sang "The Climb" by Miley Cyrus, the third being his first music video, "Ambitions" and the fourth video being his current hit, "Someone Wake Me Up."

Will She Be Able To Pull It Off? Can She Be A Wonder?

Countless people have tried to emulate Lynda Carter, but to no avail, no one has been able to fill her shoes.  How can they?  Lynda Carter is absolutely beautiful and will forever be our 'true' Wonder Woman.  But as I mentioned last week, David E. Kelley is a superb writer and producer; he hasn't made a show yet that hasn't garnered many awards or created a show that I haven't liked.

Actress Adrianne Palicki has been picked to fill the shoes of our favorite heroine in the upcoming new NBC series Wonder Woman.   If you don't recognize her, it's because Palicki was on the TV series, "Friday Night Lights," where she played Tyra Collette, a blond Dillon High wild child who turned her life around and wound up going to college. The last two episodes of season five find her back in her hometown.

The new Wonder Woman series will be making it's debut in the Fall and people have already begun passing judgement on it.  And this is why... NBC has revealed that its new Wonder Woman series will add a third identity to the superhero’s life. According to TV Guide, the series will give Wonder Woman three separate identities. The first will be that of Wonder Woman herself, while the second will be Diana Prince, Wonder Woman’s civilian alter ego from the comic books. Meanwhile, the third identity will be that of Diana Themyscira, the CEO of Themyscira Industries. In addition, Wonder Woman will have a separate love interest for each identity: Henry Demeter, Diana Themyscira’s confidante, Ed Indelicato, a man with ties to the police and Steve Trevor, Wonder Woman’s boyfriend in the comics.

I'm a little concerned about the changes, but not by much.  I'm really curious to see how it will turn out and see if Adrianne can pull it off.  I for one, think she's really beautiful.  What do you think?

OMG Hilarious!

Now, that isn't right. LMAO.

A 30-Second PSA Sure To Have You Talking

"We Won't Go Back," the 30-second Public Service Announcement released just a few days ago has people in awe, and rightfully so.  The Republican Party is doing whatever it can to overturn Roe vs. Wade and take things back to how they used to be, when women had no voice and women had no choice.

You may have recognized the the lovely actress in the video and couldn't put your name on it; she's Lisa Edelstein.  She's been in a few movies; 'As Good As it Gets,' 'What Women Want,' & 'Daddy Day Care,' and many television shows, 'House MD,' 'Felicity', 'The Practice,' & 'The West Wing'.

Check out the video "We Won't Go Back," down below.

Lady Gaga Claims 1000th No. 1

So while all you bitches were being rude and cruel to our Lady Gaga, she was on her way to making history by grabbing the 1000th leading song on the Billboard's Hot 100 Chart; Breaking several other records along the way.

"It is a tremendous honor," Gaga tells Billboard of the milestone. "To be the 1000th no. 1 on Billboard...I would be silly not to say this is the greatest honor of my career."

"I am so humbled and so honored and overwhelmed by the reception to 'Born This Way,' " Gaga adds. "[It] has been so life changing for me as an artist, and between Billboard and the international number ones and the radio numbers...I couldn't be more blessed to have the fans that I have."

Courtesy of Billboard.com are the other records she broke over the weekend:
On Radio Songs, the Hot 100's airplay component chart, "Born This Way" begins at No. 6 with a first-week audience of 78.5 million. That's the highest bow and largest opening airplay figure for a song since the tally began incorporating all radio formats in December 1998.

The arrival of "Born This Way" bests the previous debut record on Radio Songs, set when Janet Jackson's "All for You" soared in at No. 9 with 70 million in 2001.

With opening-week digital sales of 448,000, "Born This Way" likewise breaks barriers with the largest debut sum for a female artist. Britney Spears established the prior mark four weeks ago upon, the arrival of "Hold It Against Me" (411,000).

The opening of "Born" marks the third-largest debut among all digital tracks. Flo Rida's "Right Round" started with 636,000 in February 2009 and the Black Eyed Peas' "Boom Boom Pow" with 465,000 two months later.
Notably, "Born This Way" rewrites airplay and digital history after just five days of availability at radio and three days at online retailers.

The song is also just the 19th title to debut at No. 1 in the Hot 100's history.
All I can say is... stop hating.

When I was growing up in the 80's, Michael Jackson, Madonna & Cyndi Lauper, were all despised and hated back then.  In the 90's people hated Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Britney Spears & Christina Aguilera.  Hell, even the King of Rock n' Roll was hated back in the 50's when the Billboard's Hot 100 was created.

They all broke records, they all defied odds and they all ignored the Press.  Gaga deserves her time, just like any other artist.

A Gruesome Murder After A Young Man Goes Back To Being Straight

Guys named Michael or guys named Michael with a surname of Anderson, who should I distance myself from?  I'm going to say guys named Michael Anderson; I have a dear friend named Michael and I really don't want to single him out. And besides, he's hotter than these Anderson fools.

19 year old Michael Anderson of North Carolina took some cough medicine and then chopped up his roommate with an axe.   Early Monday morning, Anderson can be heard telling the 911 operator, "I took some pills and, um, the pills made me go mad and I murdered my roommate. shot him three times and then I used an axe and mutilated his body." As Anderson was taken away, he told reporters he loved "as a friend" his roommate. But during the call, Anderson says, "I was straight and I wanted to go bisexual just to experiment and I went to a gay club and I met him and I went to his house. And he took me in and I turned straight again and he wanted to touch me and stuff and I wouldn't let him and he kept trying and I waited until he went to sleep and then I shot him 3 times and then I mutilated him very badly."

Officials said the murder scene was horrific.  "Probably one of the worst scenes I have seen in my 30 years of law enforcement," Reid said.

"I TURNED STRAIGHT AGAIN!" What the hell is wrong with people these days?

"Oh lord, I don't know why I did this. … I can't believe I killed my roommate." he is very courteous to the 911 operator, saying yes ma'am, no ma'am, and then proceeds to tell her. "The axe is inside his stomach."

Too bad the idiot can't claim an insanity defense because presumably, according to his Facebook postings, he may have planned the murder.  Two recent postings show one declaring his intent, " My killing starts tonight" and the second one after the deed was done, "I finally cracked guys, I really did it this time."

The chilling 911 phone call is down below:

Jersey Shore: The Dollhouse Version

This is wrong on so many levels.  I don't watch the MTV series Jersey Shore, but with the constant rambling about it, how can anyone not know who I'm talking about.

The sad thing is... who and where are the parents who took this picture?  And have they been arrested?

OMG Hilarious!
