“If you can’t love yourself, how the hell you gonna love somebody else?” - RuPaul - - - - - - - - - - - “if by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people -- their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties -- someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal.” - John F. Kennedy - - - - - - - - - - - - “Imagine finding someone you love more than anything in the world, who you would risk your life for but couldn’t marry. And you couldn’t have that special day the way your friends do – you know, wear the ring on your finger and have it mean the same thing as everybody else. Just put yourself in that person’s shoes. It makes me feel sick to my stomach …. When I shared a picture of my tattoo on my Twitter page and said, ‘ALL LOVE is equal,’ a lot of people mocked me – they said, ‘What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!’ And I said, ‘Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. At one point I had to say, ‘Dude, everyone lay off.’ Can’t people have friendly debates about sensitive topics without it turning into unnecessary threats?” - Pop star Miley Cyrus on her marriage equality tattoo - - - - - - - - - - -

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words - Issue No. 10

This is pretty cool.  And if you're a Texan you'll definitely want to share this.  A gentleman by the name of Nathan Hoang used to live in Texas for 25 years.  He started to get a little homesick so he took on a project he hopes to continue for the 50+1 states.

He listed all the things he missed about Texas and made it into a poster.  A "Love Letter" to his home state.  He's also made a video and explains why he would like to call his project "HOME".  Feel free to check this out on his kickstarter page.
It's been 3 months since I posted an issue of "A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words", so for those who haven't seen my previous issues I started this series as a way to introduce my readers to the world of art through words.  And by words, I mean where the artist has taken several hundred pieces of text and created a masterpiece; it could be a self-portrait, landscape or still-life.  It's called Typographical Art, much like a typographical quote you see posted on a Facebook news feed from time to time. But with hundreds, if not thousands of words instead of just a few.

Game of Thrones' George R. R. Martin Reacts to Fans viewing The Red Wedding

So as you know, earlier in the week I posted a recap of Sundays night's episode of Game of Thrones.  A couple of days later a video of fans reacting to this episode surfaced online; I didn't blog about it.

But...

Conan O'Brien had the infamous author, George R. R. Martin as a guest on his show and showed him the video.  Check it out.

Get Your 2013 Orthodox Calendar Today!

I'm sure this is something you didn't expect to see so early in the morning; Orthodox Priests in a calendar spread.  Yeah, it's true.  I was reading about it over at WOW and apparently these priests thought it would be best "to strike a pose and openly stand for who they are underneath the priest’s clothing they wear: Regular people with passions, preferences, interests and desires.
And before all of you straight people go crazy, shouting blasphemous words, because you're "Christian", these priests are more than likely not gay.  They did this in support of gay rights. "All are open-minded and believe that besides their passionate devotion to the Orthodox Church, it is important to be perceived as individuals committed to diversity and acceptance."  Yes, it's a little odd to do a homoerotic spread, but hey we'll take what we can get, right?  And we support our Advocates. :-)
From their website:
And this is what brings them closer to the rest of us. Starting today, anyone can discover our 12 seductive artistic pictures of Orthodox priests and their guests by simply ordering on-line. The price per piece is only EUR 10! Images are available directly from our Facebook account. But if you are curious to find out more, you can write to pr@orthodox-calendar.com or l.monroe@mac.com.”

Kiss of the Week - Issue No. 027 - Romans 2:1

The Chicken or The Egg?

This is such a cute and adorable animated short film.  I highly recommend watching it.  Two students, Christine Kim and Elaine Wu who are currently attending Ringling College of Art and Design created this 3 minute video.

"Chicken or the Egg" is an offbeat romantic comedy about a pig who has an EGGdiction to eating eggs. But when he falls in love with the hottest chicken in town, he must choose what comes first... the Chicken or the Egg.

What a Hot Mess: I Hate People Who Have a Bunch of Hangups. Oh and Also, NO GAYS!!!

I don't know what's worse, that this gentleman prefers straight or bi people over gays or that the bathroom door must be open when showering.  And while the gas and electric are provided, the Cable, Wi-Fi and parking in the garage are not.  Seriously?  Who is going to respond to this ad?  Nevermind, it's Hollywood.  And people looking to make it big will go to great lengths, lol.  What a Hot Mess!

Farm to Fork: The Story of Our Toxic Food System

Soooooo, not something we really want to read or see early in the morning, but yeah, pretty much everything we eat will give us cancer.  And this lovely infographic provides you with every detail.  Click on the image below to get the full picture.  The infographic is brought to you courtesy of Healthychild.org.

Tom Daley's Daily Workout

Olympic Swimmer Tom Daley enjoys his daily workouts.  My only question is...  Why put on shorts if you're going to take them off anyway, right?  Calm down you gay boys, it's just Tom Daley.

Make You Feel My Love by Sean Rumsey

I first heard Sean Rumsey's cover of Adele's "Make You Feel My Love" over a year ago, and I still can't put it down.  I absolutely love his rendition of the song.

I learned today he was actually a contestant on The Voice currently airing in the UK.  According to the Mirror "he is on the verge of being signed by a "host of record labels"".

And The Best-Written TV Show Ever is...

It feels like I'm having Déjà vu or something.  I could've sworn I told somebody the other day at work "Game of Thrones is so well-written, but whether it can beat The Sopranos, I don't know." And Lord and behold, The Sopranos is named the best-written TV show ever.  Too weird for words.

Don't worry fans of M*A*S*H, Seinfield, Mad Men, The West Wing, Breaking Bad, Six Feet Under, and many others; Your show was on this same list of top 101 best-written shows.  Over the weekend, the Writer's Guild of America released its list and TIME magazine ran an editorial about it.  You can read about it here, and check out the list here.

Quoted - Andrew Garfield on Gay Marriage

Awww, Our Spidey in his "It Gets Better" T-shirt
Of course I’m in favor of marriage equality. Same-sex couples should have the same rights as anybody else  - there is no argument against equality.... How can anyone argue against compassion and understanding?

 - Andrew Garfield aka Spiderman to The Times of London on same-sex couples right to marry.

Gay of Thrones: Game of Thrones Episode 9 Red Wedding Recap

OMG, this is absolutely hilarious.  I just love Jonathan!

"WHERE ARE MY DRAGONS???"
He's the gay hairstylist who's been giving the recaps for the episodes of Game of Thrones.  And after this past Sunday's episode I needed this.  For those who have not seen the series or read the books, it's probably not a good idea to watch this.

Warning: The following video contains vulgar language and may not be  suitable for children.

I Haven't Been Fully Honest With You... (NSFW due to some upset texters)

Last month, comedian Nathan Fielder from Comedy Central asked his twitter followers to text their parents about a fake drug deal, and the outcome was absolutely hilarious!

This time, he asked his followers to text their loved ones, "I haven't been fully honest with you," and not reply for at least an hour.  I'm pretty sure some of them wished they hadn't done it. LOL.
The hilarity continues after the jump...

If Only You Could Share Your Coke

So what is Coca Cola famous for, aside from the bottle and the red and white colors?  Sharing.  Yep.  You've seen the countless ads about "sharing a coke", but I promise you've never seen anything like this.

Much like "The Thinnest Vending Machine In The World" I introduced you to last month, you will think this video is cool. Check it out, because you may find yourself sharing a coke sooner than you think.

Things We Can Do To Save The Environment - Issue No. 20 - Check the Label

Whenever Ryan and I buy an appliance or something new for our home that requires the use of electricity, we look at those yellow stickers that say "EnergyGuide".  I'm sure you've seen them.  And while the prices may often be a little steep, the end result is a lower bill.  And who doesn't want to save money and help the environment at the same time?
ENERGY STAR is a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency voluntary program that helps businesses and individuals save money and protect our climate through superior energy efficiency. Learn more about ENERGY STAR.
Giving credit to TIME,  I'd like to thank them for showing us the many ways we can help save the environment.  Just one person can make a difference, and it starts with YOU!

20. Check the Label

You wouldn't buy a car without knowing its gas mileage. Why not do the same when choosing energy-efficient ovens or even supermarkets and hotels? Energy Star, a rating system by the Environmental Protection Agency, will help you find them. Approved products can be pricier, but they cost less to power. Commercial buildings account for nearly 18% of U.S. greenhouse-gas emissions, but those with the Energy Star label consume 35% less energy than the average. By using Energy Star appliances at home, consumers can reduce their utility bill as much as 30%.

Make sure to follow Blade 7184 every Tuesday for a new issue of Things We Can Do To Save The Environment.  Each issue is thought-provoking, informative and may hold the key to saving your children and grand-children's future.  Please feel free to click on my logo to read previous issues.

Snap! Crackle! Pop!

As real as it is, this ad will either garner Dr. Ryan Lee new customers, or keep them from ever visiting a Chiropractor in their life. LOL.  Seriously, what was he thinking?  On a side note, is it me, or are all these girls young and beautiful?  Oh Dr. Lee.

Are People Really This Stupid? Issue No. 36 - Taco Shell Love

OMG, I don't even know what to say.  Are people really this stupid, or are we stupid for eating at these places?

Geez.  I know these workers get very low pay, and some need this job to pay for school, books, or other necessities in life.  But if you hate your job so much, don't make love to our Taco Shells.

While Taco Bell has yet to respond to this Facebook photo, KFC fired an employee in February for making love to some mashed potatoes.

An iPad Finger Painting Masterpiece

The Mona Lisa of the North, or better known as the "Girl with a Pearl Earring" is an oil on canvas painting created by artist Johannes Vermeer in 1665.  But today I'm actually blogging about Japanese artist, Seikou Yamaoka and his amazing video.  Using his iPad Mini, Yamaoka created a near-perfect reproduction of Vermeer's painting which is pretty darn cool.  Check it out.
