“If you can’t love yourself, how the hell you gonna love somebody else?” - RuPaul - - - - - - - - - - - “if by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people -- their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties -- someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal.” - John F. Kennedy - - - - - - - - - - - - “Imagine finding someone you love more than anything in the world, who you would risk your life for but couldn’t marry. And you couldn’t have that special day the way your friends do – you know, wear the ring on your finger and have it mean the same thing as everybody else. Just put yourself in that person’s shoes. It makes me feel sick to my stomach …. When I shared a picture of my tattoo on my Twitter page and said, ‘ALL LOVE is equal,’ a lot of people mocked me – they said, ‘What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!’ And I said, ‘Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. At one point I had to say, ‘Dude, everyone lay off.’ Can’t people have friendly debates about sensitive topics without it turning into unnecessary threats?” - Pop star Miley Cyrus on her marriage equality tattoo - - - - - - - - - - -

It's Purely Animal - Issue No. 59 - The Photo Bombing Dog

Our dogs would so do this.  I can't count the number of times our 4 chihuahuas photo bomb our camera while we're recording a video or taking pictures.  Just recently I was posting a video on YouTube and there was our chihuahua, Lady, photo-bombing away.

Checkout this Craigslist apartment listing where this cute dog has managed to photo-bomb every photo in the ad.  Too adorable.

Saturday Morning Coffee Break: Who We Are

Good morning readers, it's time for yet another Saturday Morning Coffee Break so grab your java, sit down and watch this great short movie.  The following movie was filmed in 2009 and released in 2010.

For those who have never seen it, here's a short synopsis.  And yes, it does have a happy ending.
Who We Are explores the relationship between two best friends who find themselves struggling to hold onto their friendship while dealing with the feelings they have for one another. Alex (Taylor Caldwell), an openly gay high school student, tries to rebuild his relationship with his best friend Michael (Justin Fix), after revealing to Michael he has feelings for him. When Michael reluctantly decides to attend a 'Gay-Straight-Alliance' meeting Alex, he reaches a new state of understanding and level of acceptance for Alex. Michael's parents (John Patrick Kelly & Kim Reed) battle between accepting what they're religion suggests, and opening their minds to accepting people for who they are. The film captures the societal hardships many homosexuals face and a story of love without boundaries.

Blood Stained Glasses

Look, I know the whole spiel, "people kill people - guns don't kill people", blah, blah, blah.  But does Yoko Ono really have to show us her husband's blood-stained glasses to let us know that "Over 1,057,000 people have been killed by guns in the U.S.A. since John Lennon was shot and killed on December 8, 1980."

The answer is yes, and I'm glad she did.

I Came Home To FIRE and ICE

So I get home from work last night, cook dinner, and open up my TV Guide and Lord and behold, I find the following spread!  OMG! I'm so, so, so excited!
If you're a Game of Thrones fan you should be too!  The White Walkers are coming and it's going to be a battle for the ages.  Executive producer, Dan Weiss, states "This the season we've been waiting for and there's enormous shock and suprise".

And if you thought the Houses of Targaryen, Lannister and Stark were open to compromise, think again.  Not if Daenerys has something to say about it.  Besides, do you blame her?  She was robbed of her family, her rightful throne and is the only one left in her bloodline.  Ohhhh, I'm thinking she will have something to show for it.
'By the end of Season 3, Daenerys is on the rise and impossible to ignore while others will fall and be forgotten. "What's at stake for all the families in their fight," says Weiss, "is the survival of their name and the continuance of their line."'
Check out trailer #2 for Game of Thrones Season 3, it's absolutely fantastic!
And while you're at it, pick up the TV Guide at your local supermarket, it's a really great article! You can collect all 3 covers!

Isn't This The Truth? Morning Truths

These are great and ohhh so true!!  Absolutely love #9, because at 1 AM you're saying, "Tomorrow I'm going to get up early, exercise and get a head start on a productive day."  Come 7AM, not so much. LOL.

The Breathometer - The World's First Smartphone Breathalyzer!

This is really cool, but how many of you would actually use it?

The Breathometer™ is "The World’s First Smartphone Breathalyzer!" It's small enough to fit in your pocket and on a keychain.  If this would have been available when I was younger, it would have saved me several tickets.  Then again, I was young.

All you do is exhale into the device after you're out with your friends, and it will give you the blood alcohol level on your phone.  Hand the keys over to a designated drive or call a cab.  Watch the video - it's great.

And for those who don't know what pledging is - you're supporting an entrepreneur trying to make it big with a product.  Or you simply believe in their campaign and wish to contribute to them.  Prices vary, and the more money they raise, the more they're able to produce and promote a particular product.  This one starts with $20 and you'll have your product by the summer.

Movies To Watch: Despicable Me 2

I can't wait to see this movie!  The second trailer to Despicable Me is absolutely hilarious.  It was posted 2 days ago, so check it out if you haven't already.

Did You Miss America's Best

If you haven't seen this show, don't worry, you haven't missed much. It pretty much sums up every talent show on earth.

Ugly old Ted Dricks doesn't have any talent at all... Unless he happens to possess an incredible skill that no one with half a brain would think he was capable of.

Check out the following parody by The OnionIt's absolutely hilarious, and oh so true.

Do You Overpay for Shipping? Why?

How many times have you shipped something overnight?  Why?  Can you tell me why?

You know, most shipments you send by basic ground service will get it there within a day or two, Just Sayn'.

For example, I just typed it my Zipcode, 77373 into this ground mapping system and it shows that anything in yellow the other party will receive in one day.
So when I send my mother her Mother's Day gift, why pay almost $30 for overnight shipping when she'll get it the next day?  And if I'm shipping all the way to Nebraska, it will only take 2 days.

Type in your Zipcode here and never pay for overnight shipping again!

Land of the Lost - Issue No. 008: Disneyland of China

Talk about absolutely creepy and cool at the same time.  Ever hear of the fake Disneyland of China?   Well, if you haven't here's a little synopsis courtesy of The Washington Post.
“Wonderland,” which is situated on a 100-acre plot of land 45 minutes outside of Beijing, was intended to be a huge tourist destination. But according to Reuters, construction was halted in 1998 when farmers and local government sparred over property prices. A small “town,’ the skeletal remains of a castle, and the metal framework of a huge pavilion are all that remain, and the site is completely open to explorers.
Wonderland Amusement Park was to be the largest Amusement park in all of Asia, but unfortunately it never came to existence. And probably a good thing; Farmers have taken over and planted crops on the abandoned property. This is just another example of wasted money and resources. Families were uprooted and moved, just to build something that never came to be.

Scroll down and see the various pictures I found online, and watch a creepy video by Catherine Hyland after the jump.

Quoted - Dan Savage on What The Bible Got Wrong

"The shortest book in the New Testament is a letter from Paul to a Christian slave owner about owning his Christian slave.

And Paul doesn’t say, "Christians don’t own people." Paul talks about how Christians own people.

We ignore what the Bible said about slavery because the Bible  got slavery wrong.

If the Bible got the easiest moral question that humanity has ever faced wrong, what are the odds that the Bible got something as complicated as human sexuality wrong?"

                   - Dan Savage to a National High School Journalism                                                       Conference in 2012
