How many times have you shipped something overnight?  Why?  Can you tell me why?

You know, most shipments you send by basic ground service will get it there within a day or two, Just Sayn'.

For example, I just typed it my Zipcode, 77373 into this ground mapping system and it shows that anything in yellow the other party will receive in one day.  

So when I send my mother her Mother's Day gift, why pay almost $30 for overnight shipping when she'll get it the next day?  And if I'm shipping all the way to Nebraska, it will only take 2 days.

Land of the Lost - Issue No. 008: Disneyland of China

 

Talk about absolutely creepy and cool at the same time.  Ever hear of the fake Disneyland of China?   Well, if you haven't here's a little synopsis courtesy of The Washington Post.

“Wonderland,” which is situated on a 100-acre plot of land 45 minutes outside of Beijing, was intended to be a huge tourist destination. But according to Reuters, construction was halted in 1998 when farmers and local government sparred over property prices. A small “town,’ the skeletal remains of a castle, and the metal framework of a huge pavilion are all that remain, and the site is completely open to explorers.

Wonderland Amusement Park was to be the largest Amusement park in all of Asia, but unfortunately it never came to existence. And probably a good thing; Farmers have taken over and planted crops on the abandoned property. This is just another example of wasted money and resources. Families were uprooted and moved, just to build something that never came to be.

So here we are again - I'm about to re-instate my most beloved series, "Foods That Will Make You Fat", and today's issue will have you bewildered.   

Who on God's green earth makes a Nacho Pizza Cake?  And this Easter Sundae would make the Lord turn over in his grave.  Oh wait...

So yeah, Jesus has already left the building, but he wouldn't be too happy with this concoction.  OMG, this is the most disgusting thing I've ever posted on my series.  Seriously.   This lovely parfait consists of a chocolate fondue drizzled over egg, turkey, gravy, crab leg and chicken nuggets.  So now you know what to do with all those frozen Thanksgiving left overs!
 

Death Sausage

If you want to die early, eat a few of these.  They're sure to make you have a heart attack or stroke.  This lovely piece of meat consists of 3 pounds of ground beef, 2 pounds country sausage, 2 pounds smoked bacon, 1 pound andouille sausage, 1 pound chicken strips, and 4 regular size hotdogs, seasoned with various sauces and spices such as BBQ sauce, baconnaise, and bacon flavored seasoning salt.  So, have you died and gone to heaven already?  Lord knows you have a sundae up there you can make for dessert.

I don't even know where to start with this crap. But I'm going to say there's some type of frosting, pancakes, syrup or cheese, and some Tostitos in this lovely, hot mess.

Oh no!  I think I just figured it out!  I bet you it's a meat-lovers pizza covered with the cinna-stix glaze. O-kay, I've had enough.

The Nerd of Thrones!

I'm not sure how many of you watch Game of Thrones.  If you're not watching, I don't know what's wrong with you!  It's like the best show ever!  Well... aside from The Walking Dead, Spartacus, True Blood, Dexter, Mad Men, Boardwalk Empire and many others, but that's besides the point.

In Game of Thrones everyone wants to sit on the "Throne of Swords".  At the present time, the god-awful teeny-bopper king, Joffrey,  who nobody can stand and want dead, is sitting on this chair.

Well.... here comes the Nerd of Thrones!  LOL, yes, someone made a throne out of computer keyboards.  Quite hilarious, but I'm sure you gamers and computer geeks are eager to make one.

The artist, Mike DeWolfe has released the following statement:

The Throne of Nerds is made in honor of the Throne of Swords from the Game of Thrones TV series and fantasy series. It is constructed from 20+ computer keyboard mounted to a chair. The keyboards and have been shaped and melted to follow the form of the chair, the shape of the user, and to meld together into a combined whole.

The underlying message is one of suffering. The keyboards have been melted and warped. They’re made to twist to fit, but at the same time that renders them unuseable because they cannot fulfill their intended purpose. The keyboards are black and silver, and the underlying chair is white, but those colours have been replaced with black, in whole or in random splotches.

The keyboard warping includes the scorching of almost all of the ESC keys to symbolize how impossible it can be escape suffering and blackness. The only key that is consciously left undamaged is the ESC key on the highest positioned keyboard.

Around the back, the keyboard cables have been arranged like human hair with an attempt to braid the cables that is ultimately left in a tangle. This denotes how good plans and order can degenerate into chaos.

OMG Hilarious! The Magician and The Insta-Chick

I'm not a fan of the Tonight Show, but this is absolutely hilarious!  If you're in need of a giggle this morning, watch this video.  A magician is hired to work as a cashier of a liquor/convenience store and performs a few crazy tricks on some unsuspecting customers.

You are going to die laughing when customers fall for the dehydrated "Insta-Chick" - they're made in China. LMAO.

Ahhhh, this would be a dream come true.  Considering I work in THE LARGEST MEDICAL CENTER IN THE WORLD!  No, I didn't scream that out loud.  Just sayn'.

I do have to say that commuting to work in the morning only takes me 25 minutes, and I drive a Prius C.  So at 54 miles per gallon, I think I'm helping the environment and my pocket.

But suffice it to say, not everyone owns a hybrid vehicle or a Volt so yes, letting employees work close to home would be peachy.

Giving credit to TIME,  I'd like to thank them for showing us the many ways we can help save the environment.  Just one person can make a difference, and it starts with YOU!

13. Let Employees Work Close to Home

Sitting in gridlock wastes your time and the planet's fuel. The only solution, it seems, is to move your home next to the office. But what if you could move the office a little closer to home? 

That, in essence, is the concept called proximate commuting. It works best for companies with multiple locations in one metro area. Gene Mullins, a software developer in Seattle, created a program that helps firms slash the time employees spend driving by matching them with work closer to home. 

Mullins did studies for Starbucks, Key Bank, Boeing and, most recently, Seattle's fire department. He found that only 4% of the firefighters worked at the station closest to their home; some commuted 145 miles each way. At Boeing, daily commutes of its 80,000 Puget Sound employees total 85 circumnavigations of the earth. Using Mullins' program, some Key Bank branches reduced commutes of some workers 69%. Still, only about 20% of its employees work at the branch closest to their home, Mullins says. Yet escaping rush-hour traffic is its own reward. "For the same pay and the same job, who wouldn't want a shorter commute?"

The Buckle Puffer

You pot smokers are gonna love this. LOL.  Look, sure it's for tobacco, but c'mon we know what it was truly made for.  And I don't condone smoking pot, but I think the pipe is rather cool.  So if you want one, you better pledge right away.  It's called the Buckle Puffer.  

The pipe is secured by a pair of magnets that slides into the belt buckle.  It's made of nickel-plated aluminum, double-barrelled and rustproof.  Feel free to watch the video, and stop watching after three minutes, because the rest of the video is ridiculous.  Unless you like watching chics with bathing suits. LOL.

I was actually quite impressed.  I used to smoke a pipe ions ago, and this would have been cool to have.  But I don't smoke anymore, so that's even more cool. :-)

Following on from my Marvel Universe Family Tree series I decided to continue the idea and expand it into other areas of pop culture. As a huge Star Wars fan, and with the news that a new series of films were to be made, it seemed like the only option.

The characters are limited purely to the film and canonical TV series’ (sorry Mara Jade fans - although I’m not ruling out the possibility of drawing up an extended universe version at some point).

These pictures are hilarious, because they're so true.  I especially love how Blockbuster went from a mega superstore (overtaking every mom and pop shop video store), to becoming almost obsolete.  When was the last time you rented a video? LOL.

Grandpa Tells It Like It Is

Check out this cute 30 second ad by Oscar Mayer - it's really funny.  Well, only if you have grandparents that act like them.  

I have one grandmother through marriage left, but watching this made me think of my grandfathers who were both goofballs in their own right.  LOL.  Loved it.

Too funny, I just blogged about Hillary Clinton this morning, and my news alerts popped up with a message from Hillary Clinton.... Go figure.

 

The former First Lady, former Senator from New York, and former Secretary of State has thrown her support for us gays and marriage equality.

She couldn't have stated it any better if she tried, "LGBT Americans are our colleagues, our teachers, our soldiers, our friends, our loved ones. And they are full and equal citizens and deserve the rights of citizenship. That includes marriage. That’s why I support marriage for lesbian and gay couples. I support it personally and as a matter of policy and law, embedded in a broader effort to advance equality and opportunity for LGBT Americans and all Americans."

The Right Way To Do A Leg Workout

This post is for those guys who go to the gym and workout their legs regularly.  Now, granted, I think I have some nice legs and work them out every Tuesday and Thursday, but they sure as hell don't look like this. LOL.
