War of the Roses - Julie & Adam

Wow, it seems like forever since I posted a War of the Roses (Roula & Ryan's Roses) segment, but I finally have one for you.

Roula and Ryan were taking a break, and rightly so, everyone needs one from to time.

Once again, If you're not familiar with the "War of the Roses", then I suggest you read up on my first issue, here.  I wrote a detailed description on how it actually works.

In this morning's call, Roula took the role of Catherine from Plants & Flowers, Incorporated.

Roula and Ryan received an email from a girl named Julie, who wanted to send roses to her boyfriend of 1 month, Adam.  At first R & R were hesitant on giving her a chance because their relationship was so young.  But Julie convinced them otherwise, by telling them that Adam had a separate Facebook account which stated he was engaged; It didn't say to whom, but she had a bad feeling about it.

Adam has been having the "time of his life" with Julie.  Could this spell the end to an otherwise exciting time?

Who does Adam send the roses to?

Find out below...

Part 1

Part 2

Make sure to stay tuned for next Thursday, as this is a regular series on my blog.  Feel free to share it with your friends on Facebook, or email them. There's a little Facebook button right underneath this post where it says, "This Post Written By".

I Quote That - Making Choices

Sure, it may be controversial, but I found it rather poignant, and wanted to post it.  The quote is aimed at women or gays.

The People of Wal-Mart

Do you remember my post from Tuesday, titled Wal-Martians - A People of Wal-Mart Song?  I'm assuming you probably don't.  But if you do, then by all means check this next video out.
Thanks to my Facebook friend, Michele, I was singing the damn song all day. My co-workers were wondering what the hell came over me.  Check it out, hopefully you won't succumb to the powers that be, the Wal-Martians!

The song is titled, "People of Wal-Mart" and yes, you can buy it on iTunes!  The artist, Jessica Frech has even included the lyrics on her YouTube page, which I have kindly added after the jump.

What a Hot Mess: Sewer Geyser Destroys Car

Next time you parallel park, make sure your car is not parked over a sewer drain.  I hope this guy's insurance company covers sewer geysers.  What a Hot. Fucking. Mess!

Hell's Kitchen: "I'm Not Your Bitch!"

I don't know how many of you watch "Hell's Kitchen," or if you even know of the show.  It's a show that airs on Fox that is hosted by Gordon Ramsay, a British chef and restaurant owner.  He's also known for hosting other popular shows like "The F Word," "Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares," and "Master Chef," but what he's most famous for, is his fiery temperament and use of a wide range of expletives on these shows.

So yeah, there's plate throwing, food spitting, and calling people "chunky monkey." What I'm surprised at, is the fact that no one has killed or attempted to kill this man after he calls the contestants vulgar, and sometimes obnoxious names.  Last night, he told one of the women contestants, "shut your big fat mouth!"

The show is in it's 9th season, and Ryan and I have watched every season except for the first one.  It's actually quite entertaining, but not too many of my friends like watching it, because of Ramsay.  They prefer to watch Iron Chef or Cupcake Wars (mediocre shows), when this one is so much better.

Even though he tells someone to fuck off, or throws a plate of food on the floor; some of these contestants would probably drive me to do the same.  Here's a sample of the most hated man in the world...  It's pretty intense...

Flashback to the 1990's - Tarzan Boy by Lee R

When I heard this song on my way to work this morning, it reminded me of those days when I was out partying and drinking my life away.  Talk about having a flashback.

The song, "Tarzan Boy" was actually released in 1985 by Baltimora, a group from Italy, and has been re-recorded over the years by several artists.

The version I listened to was re-recorded by Lee R back in 1999, and played in all the dance clubs I went to.  It was definitely a catchy tune, and dancing to it was a lot of fun.  I think it was the, "oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh" that got everyone pumped-up and ready to party the night away.

The original artist, Jimmy McShane (Baltimora's front man) died of AIDS 9 years after the song was released, and was able to catch it being used in a Listerine commercial and also on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III soundtrack.  Unfortunately, he wasn't able to enjoy the success of the version you're about to hear, but I'm sure he would've loved it just as much as those who partied to it in 1999 and 2000.

You can catch the original music video by Baltimora after the jump...

#1 in The Nation for The 5th Year in a Row...

In 8 out of the last 10 years, the institution I work for has ranked No.1 in the U.S. News & World Report's annual Best Hospitals survey.  And I'm proud to say that for the 5th year in a row, The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center has retained it's #1 ranking.

On Monday, our President, John Mendelsohn, M.D. had this to say to each, and everyone of us...
"This recognition is acknowledgement of the outstanding work that you, our 18,000 dedicated employees, do here every day to care for our patients, carry out our research, and to advance our mission in all areas. Credit also belongs to our many volunteers, whether in the hospital or in the community, who actively support our work and, most importantly, to thousands of patients who place their trust in us."
This October I will have been here four years, and to this day I've had no regrets. I had applied for a position here several times before, and was never contacted due to the hundreds of applications our HR department receive on a daily basis...
Luckily for me, I didn't burn any bridges with former employers or co-workers, that someone I used to work with at U.S. Oncology referred me to their supervisor.  I was granted an interview and eventually got hired.

To know that I am part of a team that is striving everyday to find a cure for this terrible disease, makes it all worthwhile.  It is an honor to work for the best cancer hospital in the nation.

It's Purely Animal - Issue No. 22 - The Cat Scratcher

This is too fucking hilarious.  Sorry for my "French," but I had to say it.  The things animals do, I swear.

Ryan and I bought hamsters over the weekend, and we absolutely adore them.  We've had hamsters before, but their lifespan is only 3 years, or from 4-5 for the dwarf ones.  In either case, they are interesting creatures, much like this butt-scratching cat watching television. LMAO!

OMG Hilarious! - Six Pack

I Quote That - I Don't Regret You

Tori Spelling has a problem..... She's a Hoarder!

This video was absolutely hilarious!  I'm not sure how many of you have ever seen A&E's Hoarders, but it deals with people who have issues with hoarding an excessive amount of items, to the point where they can no longer walk around their home, or care for themselves and the ones they love.  Some even hoard cats, dogs, or specific items like, foods, or appliances.  It doesn't matter, they have a hoarding problem.  Ryan and I used to watch that show, and it was ridiculously insane.

It's probably not as bad as the "Freaky Eaters" post that I wrote a couple a weeks ago, but it's pretty darn close.

Back to my case and point, Tori Spelling has a problem with hoarding.  She hoards "Gays."  And it begins to take a toll on her family.

What a Hot Mess: The Iron Chef

Ahhhh, I can smell that delicious, savory sausage already.  I guess they must have run out of gas.

What a Hot Mess!

"You're Like The Next Lady Guy Guy"

So our local boy, Daniel Joseph Baker performed on last night's Hollywood round of America's Got Talent, and performing to Lady Gaga's, "Edge of Glory" nonetheless. Yes, it was a show stopper.

Sharon Osbourne told him he was a "natural performer." "You're a very special person, because you are a star," she told him.  Piers Morgan said there was something "infectious" about him that made his performances so entertaining, and Howie Mandell exclaimed, "you're like the next Lady Guy-Guy."  Daniel said he liked the sound of that, and told Howie he was fierce.

Stay tuned for tonight's results show, to see if our local teen sensation will make it to the Top 12. I have posted the video down below if you missed last night's performance by Daniel Joseph BakerGay Power!

Are People Really This Stupid?

Seriously!  Are people really this stupid?  I'm sorry, but you would not find me walking on a ridge of a mountain the size of my foot.

As I watch the video I'm wondering if one of these idiots will be falling to their death, considering the steepness of this mountain ridge.
OMG, I am sweating just watching this video!  Maybe I'm being a bit too harsh on them... I mean, if I don't have anything else to live for, or if my life doesn't matter that much to me, I guess I could see myself doing this.

From their YouTube description:
We started at the Pali Lookout and climbed the rather well traveled trail to the Pali Puka. Joining me was Randy, Francis, and myself. We proceeded beyond the Puka and the start of suicide climbs over a razor thin and crumbly ridges. The scariest part was when we reached the "W", a set of 3 notches, while retaining it's razor thin profile, all composed of crumbly rock! On the 3rd notch, we had to descend via a cable that is attached to what is known as "anvil rock", a crumbly mess of "rock" that appears ready to give at any moment (it wiggles when you push it hard)! The final climb to Lanihuli was the slowest climb ever, fighting through tangles of everything all the way to the top.

We also got the opportunity to hike with Martyna and Allegra, who just happened to be hiking this same route the same day! They caught up to us just above the Pali Puka Wall. We teamed up and tackled the Lanihuli summit together! These two can really hike! It was a pleasure to hike along side you guys!

Once at the summit, we descended the Lanihuli Trail which is no fun at all, considering it's 6 mile (one way) trail!

All in all, this hike was the scariest and most difficult hike I've ever done... This gives True Manamana a run for it's money!

According to the Rest of Us...

Yesterday, I posted the United States according to Texas, and today they really treat us like crap...

I get it, everyone's still pissed over the New York post from last week.

What a Hot Mess: How Did He Survive?

This is a question not even the guy in the video below can answer (probably because he was on drugs).

The National Geographic channel has a new show that Ryan and I  may have to record, it is called "The Indestructibles".  It's a show that discovers how anyone can survive a "more than sure" fatal accident, fully recover from their injuries, and live to tell about it.

We missed the show on Sunday night, but it's airing again this Thursday.  The episode is called "Flying Car Crash" and airs at 9:30 PM Central Time.

Here is the description to the trailer you're about to see. What a Hot Mess!
A normal morning in Ohio turns disastrous when a driver speeding down the highway loses control. The car barrels down the grassy median, collides with the guardrail and is instantly airborne. It slams into the center post of the overpass and explodes into thousands of small pieces. A nearby witness finds the bloodied and mangled body of 19-year-old Brennan Eden. Miraculously, he completely recovers. Eden has no memory of the accident and no idea of how he survived. But he is on a journey to find out how with the help of a stunt driving team and a crash investigator. Through a series of experiments that re-enact the crash, well uncover what caused the car to go airborne. Experts also reveal how Brennan survived the accident, which would have killed most drivers.

Pure genius, I absolutely love it! Can't you just imagine it???

Well, at least for the ones who grew up as a teenager in the 80's or earlier.

Wal-Martians - A People of Wal-Mart Song

You gotta love Wal-Mart.  I mean, where else can you go to find low, low prices and genuine people like this?
Yeah, my thoughts exactly.

I'll be honest, Ryan and I shop there, and sometimes we go to "Tar-Jay" (Target).  I don't see the need to pay $5 for a jar of pickles when I can get it at Wally Mart for $2.

In either case, Mr. Walmartian has posted a fabulous song using pictures from the "People of Wal-Mart" site.  The song is titled, "Wal-Martians," and it is absolutely hilarious. Check it out...

From You Tube description:  Original song celebrating the People of Wal-Mart. My cd containing "Wal-Martians" will be available on iTunes within a few weeks. For more info, visit www.ReverbNation.com/DaveThomasBand.

Millions Irrationally Feared Dead After Train Derails

After a small train derailment in Delaware, Americans all across the nation are senselessly fearing for their loved ones' lives.

According to Texans...

Okay, so not all Texans would agree, but the majority of them do think like this... LOL

I guess after last week's post of New York, we Texans deserve this.  Wait for tomorrow's post, we get kicked even harder.

Must Watch: Gay Marriage with The Edge of Glory

I pray for the day when I can say "I do" to the man I love whole-heartedly, my partner Ryan.

With tears running down my face, I watched this heart-warming video of a gay couple through the years, from the day they met, to the moment they got married - it is truly beautiful.  Lady Gaga's, "The Edge of Glory" was chosen as the backdrop for the video, where many are saying, "as far as i'm concerned, this IS the official music video."

Posted by rebelwthcause on YouTube, the description reads:
This video is for everybody. Who has ever loved. And has been loved in return. To those that think it never does or will get better. It does. It does get better, it becomes beautiful.

Movies in Rewind: Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows - Part 2

Ryan and I went to see Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 2 yesterday morning, because we didn't want to deal with the long lines, and annoying people who love to make noise during the movie.  Besides, it was only $4 a ticket at 10:15 AM, compared to $8.50 for the evening show.

For 10 years we have watched Harry, Ron and Hermione grow, but better yet, we grew with all of them.  It's no wonder why we were emotionally drained after watching this movie.  Almost everyone I know was a child, teenager, or 20-year-old when they watched the first movie.

I moved to Houston in 2001, when the Sorcerer's Stone was released, and it was an extraordinary year for many reasons, not forgetting the 9/11 disasters that put our country in terrible distress.  I will truly miss this amazing saga and it will cherished by millions for generations to come.

So first things first, if you don't want to be spoiled, then don't read this, but if you already read the books, or have already seen the movie, then this issue of "Movies in Rewind" will not bother you.

We already knew Harry was the "Chosen One" since the very first movie, but we didn't know about the Horcruxes, or that he had to destroy them in order to kill Voldermort.  We learned about that in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and the Deathly Hallows Part 1.

Just FYI, Horcruxes "are vessels in which a sorcerer may preserve a portion of his soul indefinitely. Anchoring a part of the soul to the earth by placing it in a Horcrux prevents the sorcerer's soul from going onwards should the sorcerer's body die; the effective result is that, given appropriate spells, the sorcerer can be brought back to life. This is considered to be among the darkest of all magic." - Wikibooks

Well, there were 7 of them, and Harry had to destroy them all by the end of the movie.  The first two had already been destroyed by Dumbledore and Harry, respectively.
  • 1. Marvolo Gaunt's Ring
  • 2. Tom Riddle's Diary
  • 3. Helga Hufflepuff's Cup
  • 4. Salazar Slytherin's Locket
  • 5. Rowena Ravenclaw’s Diadem
  • 6. Harry Potter
  • 7. Voldermort's Snake Nagini

It would take me weeks to write down everything I want to share about the movie. Unfortunately, I don't have that amount of time.

Overall, the movie was absolutely fantastic!  It was full of action, adventure, intrigue and mystery.  The fight scenes were awesome, the deaths of major characters emotionally heart-breaking, and sad. The death of Bellatrix Lestrange by Ron's mother Molly Weasley was exceptionally thrilling - the best part of the movie!

Well.... I honestly can't pinpoint the best part - I enjoyed it all!

This movie deserves a 10 out of 10 rating, or 5 out of 5 stars, take your pick.  I would be surprised if it didn't get nominated for an Academy Award.

Facebook Humor 101 - Liberals Are Ruining This Country

This is absolutely hilarious. OMG! Too funny.  A friend of mine on facebook posted something on his wall several hours ago, and I'd have to say it was a "Priceless" conversation. LMAO still.

Just This Side of Heaven is a Special Place Called The Rainbow Bridge...

Today marked the one year anniversary of my chihuahua Princess' death.

While the day was spent with the person who matters more to me than anything, or anyone in the world (my partner Ryan), I had Princess on my heart all day.

Princess was everything to me.  For 9 long years, she was there to comfort me in times of sorrow, there to greet me when I came home from work, there for me when I was excited about something, and she'd get excited too!  But most importantly, she made me happy.

I miss you so terribly much my little Princess, but just you wait, I will be there soon enough, across that Rainbow bridge.

When my baby Princess died, the cremation service gave me this beautiful poem, and I have never forgotten it.

Movies to Watch: The Thing (First Full-length Trailer)

I'd have to say that after watching the following trailer, they have done a really great job re-creating everything surrounding the original movie.

This prequel of the same name to The Thing, was a horror/suspense/thriller released in the early 1980's.  I had never seen it before (for fear of scary movies), until Ryan and I bought the DVD for our collection.  I'd have to say, it instantly became a genuine classic amongst our 1,300 Blu-ray/DVDs.

I'm actually glad they didn't remake the movie, but instead gave us an insight into what happened before the events of the original movie.  I don't want to spoil it for everyone, but I highly recommend you watch the first movie.

The trailer below doesn't spoil anything, so you can see this and the original.

It's Purely Animal - Issue No. 21 - Koi Mommy Is A Duckling

Ryan and I have a Koi pond, so this hits close to home.  He (Ryan) will get a kick out of this when he sees it.

A little duckling acting more like a mother, than a child, feeds some Koi and then goes for a dip - it's one of the cutest things ever!

Harry Potter vs. Star Wars

Absolutely love it!  Both movies and their characters are placed side by side in the following images.  Check it out, it's pretty darn cool.

Check out the rest of the characters after the jump...

So Is This Dexter As A Woman?

I'm not sure how many of you know who Paz de la Huerta is, but she's an American actress who has appeared in more than 30 movies, and most recently, HBO's "Boardwalk Empire."

Huerta has been cast in the new movie, "Nurse 3D," and earlier this week the first concept art was released.  Yes those crazy folks at Lionsgate are at it again.  These are the same ones who brought you those crazy movies like SAW and Hostel.

Paz de la Huerta will be playing a character by the name of Abby Russell, who's a beautiful, hard-working nurse by day, and an evil bitch by night. Think of Dexter, but with long legs, long hair, and boobies.

No, really it's about her punishing bad, bad men.  She purposely goes after dishonest ones, and kills them.  Sounds pretty interesting; We'll just have to wait and see.
